Our technicians follow a clear process for every thermostat installation. First, we review your current setup and discuss your goals—whether you want simple temperature control or smart features like WiFi access and scheduling. Next, we turn off power to your HVAC system to work safely. We remove the old thermostat and inspect the wiring to make sure everything is in good condition. If any wiring needs repair or updates, we handle that before installing the new unit.
We mount the new thermostat on the wall at a comfortable height, connect each wire to the correct terminal, and restore power to test the system. During testing, we verify that heating and cooling turn on and off correctly and that the thermostat accurately reads your home temperature. We then walk you through the setup process, including connecting to WiFi if applicable and programming your preferred schedule.
For homeowners considering a smart thermostat, we also recommend reviewing our HVAC inspection services to ensure your system is ready for the advanced features these devices offer.
Posted on Lisa Russ2025-10-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Matt for his exceptional service. He exceeded his responsibilities by adding a heat pump to my home purchase. Without prior acquaintance, he took the initiative to visit the property and assess the job requirements. On the same day, he contacted me to confirm that he could complete the task within a few hours, providing a reasonable price. I was delighted not only by the affordability but also by his ability to schedule the work for the following week. After searching for a month for someone to undertake this project, I encountered numerous companies unwilling to travel to my area. However, Matt not only accepted the job but also executed it with remarkable skill and efficiency, all while keeping costs manageable. I wholeheartedly recommend him and his company to anyone seeking honesty, quality workmanship, and a customer-first approach. Thank you, Matt, for your outstanding support "Lisa Russ"Posted on Brianne Hess2025-10-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Matt and his team are amazing! Scheduling was very simple and the person organizing dispatch was courteous. The technician was professional in appearance and behavior. Initially we had scheduled for an annual maintenance which was quoted at $199 but as it turned out we were having problems with our evaporator coil freezing so that was reduced to a diagnostic service call for only $80; that was my mistake for scheduling it as an annual checkup as opposed to a service call so I don't know that the tech was prepared to do cleaning and/or repairs. He did inspect the equipment however, after finding our return vents suboptimal are evaporator coil clogged and potentially a bad capacitor and dirty fan blades and our outdoor condenser was reportedly " very loud but in operable condition with no leaks in the system" he was adamant that we either spend several thousand dollars having them clean the air handler and replacing some maintenance Parts such as the capacitor, cleaning the fan, and replacing the evaporator coil which involves evacuating the coolant, cutting out the evaporator coil from the copper lines and resetting a new evaporator coil in its place. Alternatively we were offered the option to replace the outdoor condenser and the indoor Handler with some modifications being made to the ductwork to improve return air for approximately $9,000. I disassembled the air handler and cleaned the fan and had a technician from another local company come out and look at the system. they disassembled and cleaned the evaporator coil without having to cut the lines and then rechecked the pressures at the condenser and found the improvements in aiflow had raised pressures at the condenser and solved our freezing problem, he also took the time to evaluate our duct work and while not optimal for an older house the system setup is quite common and should be more than sufficient for the requirements of the air handler furthermore they offered to help us find appropriate filters for the returns to prevent the evaporator coil from getting clogged in the future and advised on appropriate filters to use at the air handler. they evaluated the condenser and found that it was no louder than normal and in good working order. How *long* it stays working... we'll see EDIT: after having a discussion with the owner Matt, I understand his point of view about wanting to remove the coil to clean it to prevent potential liability for damage to the lines that looked likely to occur. The options that he gave us a replacing components versus replacing the entire system were reasonable and allowed us to pick from within our interests and budget. It was not high pressure sales pitch or anything like that. but as always folks, if money is tight a second opinion on such a big project never hurts.Posted on Kristopher Herring2025-09-14Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The cost of thermostat installation depends on the type of thermostat you choose and the complexity of your setup. Basic digital thermostats typically range from $50 to $150 for the unit, while smart thermostats with advanced features like WiFi connectivity, learning algorithms, and remote app control generally cost $150 to $350 or more. Installation labor adds to the total, with standard replacements taking one to two hours and more complex upgrades requiring additional time.
Your existing wiring setup affects the final price. Homes with standard wiring can usually accommodate most thermostat models without additional work. Older homes with outdated wiring may need minor upgrades to support smart thermostats, which adds to the overall cost. We assess your current setup during the estimate so you know exactly what to expect before work begins.
For homeowners comparing options, a smart thermostat installation may have a higher upfront cost but often pays for itself through energy savings over time compared to basic models.
We diagnose and fix cooling issues quickly, so you stay comfortable without long wait times.
Every system we install or service is chosen to fit your home’s size and cooling needs.

How do I know if my thermostat needs to be replaced?
Common signs include a blank or unresponsive display, inaccurate temperature readings, your HVAC system running constantly or not turning on at all, and visibly outdated equipment. If you are experiencing inconsistent comfort levels or rising energy bills, a thermostat upgrade may help resolve the issue.
What is the difference between a smart thermostat and a programmable thermostat?
A programmable thermostat lets you set schedules for temperature changes throughout the day. A smart thermostat offers similar scheduling but also learns your preferences over time, connects to WiFi for remote control via smartphone apps, and can adjust automatically based on factors like outdoor weather conditions. Smart models tend to offer more convenience and energy-saving potential.
How long does a thermostat installation take?
Most standard thermostat replacements take one to two hours. If your home requires wiring updates or you are upgrading to a more advanced model, the process may take longer. We provide a time estimate before work begins so you can plan accordingly.
Will a new thermostat lower my energy bills?
A newer, properly installed thermostat can help reduce energy costs by ensuring your HVAC system runs only when needed and maintains efficient operation. Smart and programmable thermostats offer the greatest savings potential by adjusting temperatures during times when you are away or asleep.
