Our technicians follow a clear process to diagnose and repair your AC blower motor issue. First, we test the motor directly at the unit, checking electrical connections, the capacitor that starts the motor, and the motor windings themselves. We measure voltage and amperage to see if the motor is getting the power it needs—and if it’s drawing too much current, that’s a clear sign the motor is failing.
For direct-drive blower motors, the most common type in Campbell County homes, we inspect the motor bearings, clean any built-up debris, and check the squirrel cage fan wheel for damage or blockage. If the motor has run capacitors, we test those too—weak capacitors are one of the most common reasons blower motors fail prematurely. Our trucks carry replacement capacitors and other common parts, so we can complete most AC compressor repairs and blower motor repairs the same day we diagnose them.
For ECM (electronically commutated) blower motors—the more efficient motors found in newer systems—we use manufacturer-specific diagnostic tools to check motor speed outputs and control signals from your thermostat. These motors are more complex, but our team has training on the latest HVAC equipment installed in LaFollette, Caryville, and Campbell County TN homes.
Once we identify the problem, we give you an upfront estimate before doing any work. You decide whether to repair or replace based on your system’s age and condition.

He exceeded his responsibilities by adding a heat pump to my home purchase. Without prior acquaintance, he took the initiative to visit the property and assess the job requirements. On the same day, he contacted me to confirm that he could complete the task within a few hours, providing a reasonable price. I was delighted not only by the affordability but also by his ability to schedule the work for the following week. After searching for a month for someone to undertake this project, I encountered numerous companies unwilling to travel to my area. However, Matt not only accepted the job but also executed it with remarkable skill and efficiency, all while keeping costs manageable. I wholeheartedly recommend him and his company to anyone seeking honesty, quality workmanship, and a customer-first approach. Thank you, Matt, for your outstanding support "Lisa Russ"Posted on Brianne Hess2025-10-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Matt and his team are amazing! Scheduling was very simple and the person organizing dispatch was courteous. The technician was professional in appearance and behavior. Initially we had scheduled for an annual maintenance which was quoted at $199 but as it turned out we were having problems with our evaporator coil freezing so that was reduced to a diagnostic service call for only $80; that was my mistake for scheduling it as an annual checkup as opposed to a service call so I don't know that the tech was prepared to do cleaning and/or repairs. He did inspect the equipment however, after finding our return vents suboptimal are evaporator coil clogged and potentially a bad capacitor and dirty fan blades and our outdoor condenser was reportedly " very loud but in operable condition with no leaks in the system" he was adamant that we either spend several thousand dollars having them clean the air handler and replacing some maintenance Parts such as the capacitor, cleaning the fan, and replacing the evaporator coil which involves evacuating the coolant, cutting out the evaporator coil from the copper lines and resetting a new evaporator coil in its place. Alternatively we were offered the option to replace the outdoor condenser and the indoor Handler with some modifications being made to the ductwork to improve return air for approximately $9,000. I disassembled the air handler and cleaned the fan and had a technician from another local company come out and look at the system. they disassembled and cleaned the evaporator coil without having to cut the lines and then rechecked the pressures at the condenser and found the improvements in aiflow had raised pressures at the condenser and solved our freezing problem, he also took the time to evaluate our duct work and while not optimal for an older house the system setup is quite common and should be more than sufficient for the requirements of the air handler furthermore they offered to help us find appropriate filters for the returns to prevent the evaporator coil from getting clogged in the future and advised on appropriate filters to use at the air handler. they evaluated the condenser and found that it was no louder than normal and in good working order. How *long* it stays working... we'll see EDIT: after having a discussion with the owner Matt, I understand his point of view about wanting to remove the coil to clean it to prevent potential liability for damage to the lines that looked likely to occur. The options that he gave us a replacing components versus replacing the entire system were reasonable and allowed us to pick from within our interests and budget. It was not high pressure sales pitch or anything like that. but as always folks, if money is tight a second opinion on such a big project never hurts.Posted on Kristopher Herring2025-09-14Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. AC blower motor repair costs in LaFollette, Caryville, and Campbell County TN typically range from $300 to $800 for standard direct-drive motors. The exact price depends on a few factors:
We always provide a written estimate before starting any work. No surprise charges on your final bill.
We diagnose and fix cooling issues quickly, so you stay comfortable without long wait times.
Every system we install or service is chosen to fit your home’s size and cooling needs.
We’re proud to serve LaFollette, Jacksboro, Caryville, and Campbell County TN with dependable service and long-term customer relationships.
If the motor makes grinding or squealing noises, overheats, or trips breakers, it’s usually failing. Our technicians test the motor’s electrical draw and operation to determine if a repair (like replacing a capacitor) will extend its life or if replacement is the better choice.
Yes. A clogged filter restricts airflow, making the motor work harder to push air through your system. Over time, this extra strain overheats the motor and burns out the bearings. Changing your filter regularly is one of the best ways to protect your blower motor.
Most straightforward blower motor repairs take 1-2 hours. If we need to order a special motor for your system, it may take longer. We always tell you the expected timeline after we diagnose the problem.
No. A failing blower motor can overheat, cause electrical problems, or stop completely mid-cycle. Turn off your AC and call us for repair. Running a damaged motor risks a complete system failure or fire hazard.
That depends on your system’s age and condition. If your AC is less than 10 years old and the rest of the system is in good shape, a motor replacement usually makes sense. For older units with multiple failing components, our technicians can help you weigh repair costs against the long-term value of a new system.
Refrigerant leaks are among the most common AC problems affecting homes throughout Campbell County, and they require immediate professional attention to prevent system damage and maintain indoor comfort. Tennessee’s temperature fluctuations and the age of many HVAC systems in LaFollette, LaFollette, Jacksboro, Caryville, and Campbell County TN, and Caryville contribute to seal deterioration and connection failures that allow refrigerant to escape.
Our leak detection process uses advanced electronic leak detectors and UV dye systems to pinpoint even the smallest leaks in your refrigerant lines, evaporator coils, or condenser units. We understand that refrigerant leaks not only reduce your system’s cooling capacity but also force your equipment to work harder, leading to increased energy costs and potential compressor damage if left unaddressed.
Once we locate the leak, our certified technicians perform permanent repairs using industry-approved methods and materials. This often involves replacing damaged coil sections, repairing line sets, or addressing connection issues. After completing repairs, we test the system thoroughly and may recommend refrigerant recharging to restore proper levels. For homes with older systems experiencing multiple leaks, we’ll discuss whether new equipment installation might be more economical than ongoing repairs, and can coordinate with our duct cleaning services to ensure optimal system performance.

This frustrating problem can result from various issues ranging from simple thermostat malfunctions to complex electrical failures that require professional troubleshooting expertise.
Our diagnostic process starts with the most common causes: checking power supply, circuit breakers, and thermostat settings before progressing to more complex components. We examine safety switches, capacitors, contactors, and control boards that can prevent your system from starting. In the LaFollette, LaFollette, Jacksboro, Caryville, and Campbell County TN, and Caryville area, power surges from summer storms frequently damage electrical components, making thorough electrical testing crucial for accurate diagnosis.
