When you call us for AC cooling issues, we start with a full diagnostic to check refrigerant pressures and system performance. We inspect connected components, test electrical connections, and look for signs of leaks at fittings, coils, and line sets.
If we find a refrigerant leak, we repair it before recharging the system. We use professional-grade equipment to evacuate the old refrigerant safely and add the correct amount of new refrigerant based on your system’s specifications. We then verify that temperatures at your vents return to normal and that the system runs without cycling issues.
For homes with older systems that may have developed slow leaks over time, we document the condition of the system and help you decide whether repair and recharge make more sense than replacement. If your compressor is struggling due to low refrigerant, you may also want to review our AC compressor repair options alongside the recharge service.
Posted on Lisa Russ2025-10-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Matt for his exceptional service. He exceeded his responsibilities by adding a heat pump to my home purchase. Without prior acquaintance, he took the initiative to visit the property and assess the job requirements. On the same day, he contacted me to confirm that he could complete the task within a few hours, providing a reasonable price. I was delighted not only by the affordability but also by his ability to schedule the work for the following week. After searching for a month for someone to undertake this project, I encountered numerous companies unwilling to travel to my area. However, Matt not only accepted the job but also executed it with remarkable skill and efficiency, all while keeping costs manageable. I wholeheartedly recommend him and his company to anyone seeking honesty, quality workmanship, and a customer-first approach. Thank you, Matt, for your outstanding support "Lisa Russ"Posted on Brianne Hess2025-10-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Matt and his team are amazing! Scheduling was very simple and the person organizing dispatch was courteous. The technician was professional in appearance and behavior. Initially we had scheduled for an annual maintenance which was quoted at $199 but as it turned out we were having problems with our evaporator coil freezing so that was reduced to a diagnostic service call for only $80; that was my mistake for scheduling it as an annual checkup as opposed to a service call so I don't know that the tech was prepared to do cleaning and/or repairs. He did inspect the equipment however, after finding our return vents suboptimal are evaporator coil clogged and potentially a bad capacitor and dirty fan blades and our outdoor condenser was reportedly " very loud but in operable condition with no leaks in the system" he was adamant that we either spend several thousand dollars having them clean the air handler and replacing some maintenance Parts such as the capacitor, cleaning the fan, and replacing the evaporator coil which involves evacuating the coolant, cutting out the evaporator coil from the copper lines and resetting a new evaporator coil in its place. Alternatively we were offered the option to replace the outdoor condenser and the indoor Handler with some modifications being made to the ductwork to improve return air for approximately $9,000. I disassembled the air handler and cleaned the fan and had a technician from another local company come out and look at the system. they disassembled and cleaned the evaporator coil without having to cut the lines and then rechecked the pressures at the condenser and found the improvements in aiflow had raised pressures at the condenser and solved our freezing problem, he also took the time to evaluate our duct work and while not optimal for an older house the system setup is quite common and should be more than sufficient for the requirements of the air handler furthermore they offered to help us find appropriate filters for the returns to prevent the evaporator coil from getting clogged in the future and advised on appropriate filters to use at the air handler. they evaluated the condenser and found that it was no louder than normal and in good working order. How *long* it stays working... we'll see EDIT: after having a discussion with the owner Matt, I understand his point of view about wanting to remove the coil to clean it to prevent potential liability for damage to the lines that looked likely to occur. The options that he gave us a replacing components versus replacing the entire system were reasonable and allowed us to pick from within our interests and budget. It was not high pressure sales pitch or anything like that. but as always folks, if money is tight a second opinion on such a big project never hurts.Posted on Kristopher Herring2025-09-14Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The cost of an AC refrigerant recharge in LaFollette, LaFollette, LaFollette, Jacksboro, Caryville, and Campbell County TN, Caryville, and Campbell County TN, Caryville, and Campbell County TN depends on a few key factors. The size of your system and the type of refrigerant it uses affect pricing. Older systems running R-22 refrigerant typically cost more to recharge than modern systems using R-410A.
If we find a leak during the recharge visit, repair costs increase. We charge separately for leak detection and any fitting repairs needed to stop the leak before adding new refrigerant. The extent of the leak and the parts required to seal it determine the added cost.
For comparison, a straightforward AC refrigerant recharge without leaks typically ranges from $150 to $600. If your system also has airflow issues contributing to poor cooling, you may want to look at our AC not cooling repair service to address multiple problems at once.
We provide an upfront estimate before any work begins. If your system is old and needs frequent recharges, we will discuss whether AC repair or a full replacement makes better long-term financial sense for your household.
We diagnose and fix cooling issues quickly, so you stay comfortable without long wait times.
Every system we install or service is chosen to fit your home’s size and cooling needs.
We’re proud to serve LaFollette, Jacksboro, Caryville, and Campbell County TN with dependable service and long-term customer relationships.
How do I know if my AC has low refrigerant versus another cooling problem?
Low refrigerant typically causes warm air from vents, a frozen evaporator coil, and longer cooling times. If your air handler is running but the house stays warm, low refrigerant is a likely cause. Our technicians measure refrigerant pressure directly to confirm before recommending a recharge.
Can I add refrigerant to my AC myself?
Refrigerant handling requires EPA certification and proper equipment. DIY attempts often overcharge or undercharge the system, which causes additional problems. Professional recharge includes leak testing to address the root cause so the refrigerant does not just leak out again within days or weeks.
How often does an AC system need a refrigerant recharge?
A properly sealed system should never need routine recharges. If your system loses refrigerant, it has a leak that needs repair. We document the leak location and repair it before recharging so the fix lasts.
Is it bad for my AC if the refrigerant is low?
Yes. Low refrigerant causes the compressor to work harder and overheat. Running a system with low refrigerant for extended periods can lead to compressor failure, which is one of the most expensive AC repairs. Addressing low refrigerant quickly protects the rest of your system.
Will recharging my AC fix all cooling problems?
A recharge restores cooling if low refrigerant is the only issue. If your system also has a failing motor, clogged filter, or electrical problem, the recharge alone will not fully restore performance. We diagnose all cooling concerns during the same visit so you know the full scope of work needed.
