Our repair process starts with a thorough inspection of your cooling system. We check electrical connections, test refrigerant levels, inspect the capacitor and contactor, and examine the compressor for signs of wear or failure. This diagnostic phase tells us exactly what needs fixing so we can give you an accurate estimate before any work begins.
Once we identify the issue, our technicians use quality replacement parts to restore your system. Whether you need a capacitor swap, a refrigerant recharge, or compressor work, we complete the repair properly the first time. If your system has a refrigerant leak, we locate and seal it before recharging — not just top off the Freon and send you on your way. For units with failing compressors, we discuss whether repair or replacement makes more sense based on the system’s age and condition.
Many homeowners across LaFollette, LaFollette, LaFollette, Jacksboro, Caryville, and Campbell County TN, Caryville, and Campbell County TN, Caryville, and Campbell County TN also call us when their AC is not cooling properly and want a second opinion before paying for a new system. Posted on Lisa Russ2025-10-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Matt for his exceptional service. He exceeded his responsibilities by adding a heat pump to my home purchase. Without prior acquaintance, he took the initiative to visit the property and assess the job requirements. On the same day, he contacted me to confirm that he could complete the task within a few hours, providing a reasonable price. I was delighted not only by the affordability but also by his ability to schedule the work for the following week. After searching for a month for someone to undertake this project, I encountered numerous companies unwilling to travel to my area. However, Matt not only accepted the job but also executed it with remarkable skill and efficiency, all while keeping costs manageable. I wholeheartedly recommend him and his company to anyone seeking honesty, quality workmanship, and a customer-first approach. Thank you, Matt, for your outstanding support "Lisa Russ"Posted on Brianne Hess2025-10-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Matt and his team are amazing! Scheduling was very simple and the person organizing dispatch was courteous. The technician was professional in appearance and behavior. Initially we had scheduled for an annual maintenance which was quoted at $199 but as it turned out we were having problems with our evaporator coil freezing so that was reduced to a diagnostic service call for only $80; that was my mistake for scheduling it as an annual checkup as opposed to a service call so I don't know that the tech was prepared to do cleaning and/or repairs. He did inspect the equipment however, after finding our return vents suboptimal are evaporator coil clogged and potentially a bad capacitor and dirty fan blades and our outdoor condenser was reportedly " very loud but in operable condition with no leaks in the system" he was adamant that we either spend several thousand dollars having them clean the air handler and replacing some maintenance Parts such as the capacitor, cleaning the fan, and replacing the evaporator coil which involves evacuating the coolant, cutting out the evaporator coil from the copper lines and resetting a new evaporator coil in its place. Alternatively we were offered the option to replace the outdoor condenser and the indoor Handler with some modifications being made to the ductwork to improve return air for approximately $9,000. I disassembled the air handler and cleaned the fan and had a technician from another local company come out and look at the system. they disassembled and cleaned the evaporator coil without having to cut the lines and then rechecked the pressures at the condenser and found the improvements in aiflow had raised pressures at the condenser and solved our freezing problem, he also took the time to evaluate our duct work and while not optimal for an older house the system setup is quite common and should be more than sufficient for the requirements of the air handler furthermore they offered to help us find appropriate filters for the returns to prevent the evaporator coil from getting clogged in the future and advised on appropriate filters to use at the air handler. they evaluated the condenser and found that it was no louder than normal and in good working order. How *long* it stays working... we'll see EDIT: after having a discussion with the owner Matt, I understand his point of view about wanting to remove the coil to clean it to prevent potential liability for damage to the lines that looked likely to occur. The options that he gave us a replacing components versus replacing the entire system were reasonable and allowed us to pick from within our interests and budget. It was not high pressure sales pitch or anything like that. but as always folks, if money is tight a second opinion on such a big project never hurts.Posted on Kristopher Herring2025-09-14Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. AC repair costs in the Campbell County area vary based on what component failed and the age of your system. Simple capacitor replacements typically run between $150 and $350, while compressor repairs or replacements can cost $800 to $2,500 depending on the unit size and parts required. Refrigerant leaks that require leak detection and sealing add $200 to $600 to the job, but this prevents repeated service calls and protects your system long-term.
Older systems that keep breaking down often cost more to repair than newer models. If your AC is over 12 years old and needs major work, we may recommend a compressor replacement or full system upgrade instead of pouring money into a dying unit. We always show you the math so you understand why we recommend one option over another.
Emergency after-hours service may add a trip charge, but we provide upfront pricing before we start any work. You will not see surprise fees on your final bill. We also offer emergency AC repair for situations that cannot wait until the next business day, with same-day service available across Campbell County.

Every system we install or service is chosen to fit your home’s size and cooling needs.

How long does a typical AC repair take?
Most AC repairs take 1 to 3 hours depending on the complexity of the issue. Simple capacitor or contactor swaps finish in under an hour, while compressor work or refrigerant leak repairs may take longer. We will give you a time estimate after our diagnostic inspection.
Should I repair or replace my aging AC?
If your system is under 10 years old and the repair cost is under $1,000, repair usually makes sense. Systems over 12 to 15 years old with repeated failures often cost less in the long run with a replacement. We provide a cost-benefit analysis for your specific situation so you can decide with confidence.
Why is my AC running but not cooling?
This usually points to low refrigerant from a leak, a failing compressor, a dirty evaporator coil, or a stuck reversing valve. Our technicians diagnose the root cause and fix it properly rather than masking the symptom with a temporary fix.
Can I run my AC while waiting for a repair appointment?
It depends on the problem. If you hear strange noises, smell burning, or see water leaking into your home, turn off the system and call us immediately to prevent further damage. For minor issues like warm air, you may be able to run the unit briefly, but we recommend scheduling service as soon as possible.
Is it worth adding a refrigerant recharge to my repair?
Only if your system is low on refrigerant. Recharging a system that already has proper charge levels will not improve performance and can actually cause damage. We test refrigerant levels during every repair visit and only add what the system actually needs.
